CUET 2027 — How Many Days Left

CUET UG — the Common University Entrance Test — is the entrance examination for undergraduate admission to India's central universities and a growing number of state, deemed and private ones. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency.

It changed what Class 12 marks are for. Before CUET, admission to Delhi University and its peers ran on board percentages, which pushed cut-offs to 99 % and above and made a candidate's board — CBSE, a state board, ISC — decisive in a way nobody could control. Since 2022, the entrance score decides, and boards enter as an eligibility threshold rather than a ranking device.

A modular paper. Candidates choose their subjects rather than sitting a fixed set: domain subjects matching the programme applied for, a language section, and a General Test where the programme requires one. The combination must match the requirements published by each university — a mismatch is the most common reason for a rejected application, and no score can repair it.

Computer-based, in multiple shifts, with scores normalised across shifts. As in JEE Main, the result is expressed as a percentile within the shift, not a raw percentage.

One test, many applications. The CUET score is submitted to each participating university separately, and each sets its own cut-offs, weightings and counselling process. Clearing CUET is not itself an admission.
