MHT CET 2027 — How Many Days Left

MHT CET is the state-level entrance examination for undergraduate engineering, pharmacy and agriculture courses in Maharashtra, conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell.

Two groups, chosen by the course.

• PCM — Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics — for engineering and technology.
• PCB — Physics, Chemistry, Biology — for pharmacy, agriculture and allied courses.

Candidates aiming at both pharmacy and engineering may sit both groups.

No negative marking. This is the single most consequential difference from JEE Main: every question can be attempted without risk, so leaving a blank is never the right call. It changes the entire strategy of the paper.

The syllabus leans on Class 12, with a defined share drawn from the Class 11 syllabus. Questions follow the Maharashtra State Board curriculum, which is why candidates from other boards usually need to reconcile the two syllabi rather than assume they overlap.

Computer-based, across multiple days and shifts, with scores normalised between shifts before the merit list is drawn.

It is not the admission. MHT CET is followed by a separate centralised admission process — CAP — run in rounds, where seats are allotted on the basis of score, preferences and category. Missing a CAP round deadline forfeits the seat regardless of the score.

Roughly eighty per cent of Maharashtra's engineering seats are filled through this route, the remainder through JEE Main.
