Embed a countdown on your website

Every WatchIsUp countdown can be embedded for free via an iframe on any website, blog, or platform that accepts HTML.

How do I get the embed code?

On the countdown page, click Embed (in the sharing block). A window shows the widget exactly as it will look on your site: click Copy the code and paste it into your page. For Notion, Google Sites or any tool that asks for a link, open Show the code and copy the embed link.

What is the embed URL?

The URL follows the format https://www.watchisup.com/{category}/{slug}/embed. Use this URL in the src attribute of an iframe.

What dimensions should I use?

Recommended width: 100% of the parent container. Height: minimum 400px on desktop, 300px on mobile. The embed is responsive and adapts automatically.

Does the embed keep the colors and background image?

Yes. The theme, colors, background image, and visual effect chosen at creation are preserved.

Is the counter truly live on the visitor's side?

Yes. The countdown runs client-side from the stored target date and timezone. No server update is needed.

Can I edit the counter after embedding it?

Yes. The widget always shows the current state of the counter: edit it with the link received at creation (see our help on editing a countdown) and the change appears on your site, without pasting the code again.

Does the widget show a WatchIsUp label?

The free widget shows a small “Powered by WatchIsUp” label in the bottom-right corner, and a click on it opens the countdown page. The text link below the widget is part of the code you paste, so you can remove it.

What does the Pro embed add?

The Pro embed ($9.99, one-time payment, per countdown) is made for clubs, associations, towns and businesses that put their own countdown on their site:

  • no WatchIsUp label in the widget, and the widget is not clickable;
  • transparent background, so your site's background shows through;
  • a live bar (people watching, reactions);
  • title, description or date can be hidden;
  • text and accent colors from your brand;
  • the countdown is kept after the event; its date then locks, and a new edition unlocks it.

Try every option in the preview of the Embed window, then click Unlock the Pro version. The options apply to your widget right after payment, with no account to create.
