NEET 2027 — How Many Days Left

NEET UG is the single entrance examination for undergraduate medical courses in India — MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, veterinary and nursing. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency, and since the 2016-17 admission cycle no other entrance test may be used for these seats: state exams and private-college tests were all absorbed into it.

The paper. 180 questions to answer in 3 hours, marked out of 720:

• Physics — 45 questions, 180 marks
• Chemistry — 45 questions, 180 marks
• Biology (Botany and Zoology) — 90 questions, 360 marks

Biology therefore carries half the total on its own. Marking is +4 for a correct answer and −1 for a wrong one, which makes blind guessing a losing strategy: four wrong answers cancel one right one.

It is pen-and-paper. Unlike JEE Main, NEET UG is still an offline OMR examination, taken on a single day nationwide.

Scale. More than two million candidates register each year, which makes it one of the largest examinations of any kind in the world — for roughly one hundred thousand MBBS seats.
