SSC CGL 2027 — How Many Days Left

SSC CGL — the Combined Graduate Level examination — is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission to fill Group B and Group C posts across ministries, departments and organisations of the Government of India.

What it leads to. Assistant Section Officer in the central secretariat, Inspector in the Income Tax and Central Excise departments, Assistant Audit Officer under the CAG, Sub-Inspector in the CBI and the NIA, Statistical Investigator, and Auditor and Accountant posts. The post allotted depends on rank, preferences and the vacancies of that year.

Two tiers.

• Tier 1 is a screening test: General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension, 100 questions, 200 marks, one hour. It qualifies you for Tier 2 and nothing more — the marks do not carry forward.
• Tier 2 is the one that ranks: multiple sessions covering mathematical abilities, reasoning, English, general awareness, computer knowledge and a data entry speed test, with a module in statistics or finance for the posts that require it.

Negative marking applies at both tiers, and the rate is not the same in every module — the notice for the year states it section by section.

Eligibility is a bachelor's degree, with some posts adding specific requirements: Assistant Audit Officer, for instance, expects a degree in commerce or a professional qualification.

Age limits vary by post and category; only the official notification settles them.
