Easter Countdown 2027

Easter 2027 falls on the date shown above. This countdown runs to midnight in your own time zone.

A date that moves. Since the Council of Nicaea in 325, Easter Sunday has been the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after March 21, so it lands between March 22 and April 25. Orthodox churches, which follow the Julian calendar, usually celebrate later.

Eggs and bunnies. Children hunt for eggs left by the Easter Bunny, a tradition brought to America by German immigrants. At the White House, the Easter Egg Roll on the South Lawn has been held almost every year since 1878.

A long weekend. In the UK, Canada, Australia and much of Europe, Easter Sunday sits inside a four-day weekend between Good Friday and Easter Monday.

Keep the countdown on screen for the kids, or create your own for your family egg hunt.
